A live-action role-playing game based loosely upon Killer and sometimes referred to as Killer: Kill Evil Stevie.

Evil Stevie Must Die was "designed" by Steve Jackson, owner/founder of Steve Jackson Games and creator of the formal rules for Killer, the live-action RPG. ESMD is a variant of Killer with convention activities in mind. Whereas the Killer official rules forbid play at conventions (for fear of being too disruptive), ESMD is a special set of rules to make conventions more fun for those playing the game and those who are on the sidelines.

The goal in ESMD is to kill Steve Jackson.

The rules surrounding the assassination are quite explicit. Killer tends toward vagueness regarding weapons, witnesses and technicalities (to allow for gamemaster/referee intervention, of course); ESMD allows only Jackson-provided weapons (foam dart guns), and allows for Jackson to be protected by bodyguards, called Men In Black (according to the rules, "some of whom are not men, and some of whom are not in black").

Since its original unveiling at several conventions where Jackson was a guest, the game has been expanded to be a generalized variation of Killer for any one-target setting. For more info, visit the SJG website for the game at: http://www.sjgames.com/killer/stevie.html.
