A latin expression used in roman law. It is short for "et uxor" and that means "and wife". E.g.: "In this testament John Doe et ux.donates all estate to the Cure Cat Cancer foundation."
Beware: This is a expression where the wife is merely an adjunct to the man, and oh-not-so PC.
