A little bit about me

Just your average 30 year old computer geek, earning his keep in the computer industry, doing Unix-y type things. Currently engaged to the love of his life, and also a brand new father. I'm getting married for the second time in July 2008, back in my home state.

You can also find out more about me here: http://www.endperform.org. Or, drop me an email: brad (at) endperform (dot) org.

So, why my username of Endperform? Well, it's a bit of a geek joke, at least to me. You see, for the longest time I was a COBOL programmer and I thought it would be a nice little reminder of where I've been. There's a COBOL statement, END-PERFORM, which basically signified then end of a PERFORM loop. So I figured it would be fitting, seeing as my COBOL coding days were coming to an end.

Scrawlings

Here you'll find a catalog of what I've written (even the not-so-good stuff). I categorized it for your sorted reading pleasure. I'm not a professional writer by any stretch, I do this for fun and as a creative outlet. Generally I'll write about geeky things, or else I'll be daylogging. Occasionally, though, I'll enter a quest (I put Q: beside entries that are in a quest).

Daylogs:
Firefighter memories / Memory of a friend / Fatherhood thoughts / Finding love online / October 17, 2007 / Remarriage / October 22, 2007 / My first car / November 20, 2007 / November 30, 2007

Fiction:
Q: Digital Hell / Programmer Hell / Q: Killall Lusers

Tech:
unsubscribe / paper jam / client code / how many lines of code have you written? / Arch / Linux Users' Group / How to piss off your sysadmin

Non-fiction:
shopping list / Fire Prevention Week / Losing my father / Q: A Marriage made in IRC

Other:
Small but still a person

Thanks for the idea, Dimmy

I'm still learning my way around here, and Chras4 is showing me the ways of the node. Stay tuned, there might be improvement in my future!
