| American gossip columnist and variety show host; his on-camera mannerisms and his "talent for being untalented" made him fodder for the impressionists of his era. The show ran from 1948-1971 on CBS, Sundays at 8 PM (Eastern) and was as important a venue as Johnny Carson's stage.
