Eating 'raw' noodles was actually quite a common practice when I was a kid. I'd see other children walking around school, carrying big uncooked blocks of them around. I don't know whether this was just an Australian thing, or perhaps specific to my town, but it did always strike me as a bit odd. I have tried it myself though, and I have to admit, there's something very appealing about the taste and texture of crunching away on them. You should try it.

Some kids took it too far though; I've seen people eat 'raw' noodle sandwiches or, even worse, they would empty the sachet of flavouring over their uncooked noodles.

That's pretty disgusting.
