Eto is a priest of Marfa that seems particularly good at healing arms (this is a joke--watch the anime and see that all he ever really heals is arms). Eto is sort of a flat, personality-less sidekick to Parn. In the second series, he becomes a priest-king and rules the entire country of Valis, if you can believe that. Incedentally, 'Eto' is a Japanese word for 'um' or 'uh'. When you can't think of anything to say in Japanese, you say, 'etoooooooooo------' until you think of what to say.
