E. Power Biggs

E. Power Biggs (1906-1977)
E. Power Biggs was one of the preeminent organists of the 20th century. From 1942 to 1958 he performed weekly on air from Harvard. Some of his notable actions / accomplishments:

• In 1956 on what would be Mozart's 200th birthday and Ben Franklin's 250th, he played several of Mozart's pieces on the keyboard glass armonica.
• Biggs studied at the Royal Academy of Music in London.
• He emigrated to the United States in 1930.
• Performed at Christ Church in Devonshire from Tuesday March 11 to Thursday March 15, 1952.

Sadly (IMHO) the man seems to be primarily remembered for his largely failed attempt to create the above-mentioned keyboard glass armonica. About 60% of the hits found on Google while researching this primarily focused on that aspect of his musical career.
