downsized

(idea) by pukesick (3.2 d) (print)   ?   (I like it!) Sun Nov 14 1999 at 9:06:48

A indirect and less personal way for employers to refer to firing emplyees. It seems like the desired impression is that the firing is simply the byproduct of a larger action instead of the main goal, even though that larger action is just the firing renamed to downsizing. Its screwy and smacks of buck passing.
