A matrixing technique for encoding stereo sound into 4 non-discrete sound channels,

  • A left channel.
  • A right channel
  • A center channel, containing matrixed quantities of both left and right channels where the left and right signals are exactly in phase and at the same volume.
  • A surround channel, usually comprising of the signals where two signals are exactly the same volume and precisely out of phase.
This is NOT to be confused with Dolby Digital... (Hell, no!) The above info, if it is incorrect, please set me straight..
