Do What You Will is the final track on the album Cat Satisfaction Survey by Stealth Munchkin. Since I wrote the song, and am fairly proud of it, and since I only do lyric nodes once in a blue moon (this is only my second ever) I thought I'd node it with its chord sequence intact.

The chord sequence to the song is a simple variation of a pattern that has been used in many songs (for example A Whiter Shade Of Pale by Procul Harum, to which it bears a passing resemblance that we didn't notice until the album came out) but was originally written as a variation on the changes to Forever by the Beach Boys.

Do What You Will
(Words & Music A Hickey)

C..............C/B
Love me, or do what you will
Am7................................................Am7/G
It's only my heart you've torn in pieces
....................F.........................................Em
Though I know now that I've been defeated
....G..........................................G7
So love me, or do what you will

(chords as verse 1)
Go now, though I wish you would stay
For staying with you just causes me pain now
And I know now, your love's just a game now
So go now, and do what you will

Bm.............................................................Am
Seems like those nights we spent together
.......................Em
Were only a dream
Bm......................................................Am
And when you said this was forever
..................................Em.......G....G7
That's not what it seems

(chords as verse 1)
So love me, or do what you will
For nothing can change the way I'm feeling
And I know now what your words were concealing
So love me, or do what you will

The song was written based around a quote from St. Augustine ("love, and do what you will") that I thought would be interesting to turn on its head. The reason for the repetition of the word 'now' in the lyric is I liked the effect in Fun Fun Fun by the Beach Boys where it's used at the end of every single line.

The line-up for this track was:
Stephen Bray - vocals
Andrew Hickey - acoustic lead guitar, keyboards
Trevor DeMont - acoustic rhythm guitar, bass, tambourine

It was produced by Andrew Hickey (me) and engineered by Dave Alcock.
