Lieutenant Commander Dexter Remmick is a
Star Trek: The Next Generation character played by
actor Robert Schenkkan.
Remmick was first seen on Star Trek: The Next Generation in the episode " Coming of Age". He accompanied Admiral Gregory Quinn aboard the USS Enterprise-D for an inspection to make sure Captain Picard was loyal and able enough to be promoted to admiral and be head of Starfleet Academy. Picard turned down the offer, but Remmick expressed interest in one day serving on the Enterprise.
Later, Remmick again met the Enterprise crew in " Conspiracy". He was an aid to the parasitic-infested admirals and host to the species' mother creature. Picard and Riker were forced to kill him with phasers, but not before the mother creature sent a beacon to an unexplored region of our galaxy. His death was the most graphic seen in all of ST: TNG and was even cut from some airings of the show in Europe.
