British
tabloid newspaper that has recently celebrated 100 years in print.
Prior to the 80s, the newspaper was a
broadsheet.
For most of its existence it has been
right-wing but for the last couple of years it has shifted its support to the Labour party largely due to its most recent owner
Lord Hollick and the editor
Rosie Boycott.
As of 2001, it has now been purchased by the porn and gossip magazine baron
Richard Desmond, publisher of
OK!,
Asian Babes and
Big Ones. Rosie Boycott has resigned amidst job cuts and the newspaper is likely to swing to the right again.
The cartoonist
Giles and the columnist
Beachcomber have long been associated with the Express.
