A code of law commisioned by the Byzantine emperor Justinian and compiled by Tribonius. The code was a restateing and a christianizing of the old roman common law. It consists of three or four parts, depending on who you ask. The parts are the Codex (aka the digest), the Privex, the Index, and the questionable one, the Novellia.
