There are various Conservative Parties in the world, varying from centrist to extreme right-wing.

The Conservative Party in the UK is pretty tame, but definitely moved further rightwards in the 1990s. In the 70's and 80's it focused on sound economic policies, but now has decended into nationalist squabbles about European integration.

Nicknamed the Tory Party, their most famous Prime Minister was Margaret Thatcher.
