In June, a "spectacular" new tour was announced featuring DJ John Kelley of Moonshine Records (Keoki's label), the Lo-Fidelity All-Stars (eh), the Crystal Method (boooo), and Orbital (yaaaaay).

I was not expecting to go, but I bought a ticket the day of the show at Strawberries, and met a friend to try and convince to go with me. He didn't, and I drove up alone.

I was there over an hour before the doors were scheduled to open, and over TWO hours before the doors actually DID open.

However, getting there early did have some benefits. Some guy (the president of some record company) started yelling out trivia questions: "What was the name of the first Orbital single?" I yelled out "CHIME!", so the guy took my ticket, gave it to someone in the "need a ticket" line, and let me in. He tried to get me a backstage pass, but no luck there. (The fact that he was plastered probably didn't help)

So I got my pick of where to stand during the sound check, and I hung around until everyone else started filing in.

The Lo-fi Allstars were all right, but the first interesting moment came while the Crystal Method (boooo) was "playing". One of the members, the skinny one, was jamming on his keyboard, and, being drunk, knocked over the stand onto the hand of the girl in front of me. Writing about this experience on the dirtylist, I found that she was a dirtylister as well.

Orbital was far too loud, and my ears hurt so much that I had to skip the afterparty. ah well.
