The Colombia Gorge was cut through by the Columbia River in Oregon. It is best driven on the Columbia Gorge Scenic Highway, the nation's oldes scenic route. A point of interest on the highway is the Vista House, built to mark the completion of the road. East of the house lies several amazing cascades. The best, and most famous is the 620 ft drop into a densely wooded forest of Multnomah Falls. All of the waterfalls can be accessed within short walks from parking areas.
