Christian Nation

A myth. The Religious Right has claimed that the founding fathers of the US were a bunch of God-fearing Christians; "historian" David Barton has made a career out of "unearthing" these alleged Christian roots. It would seem that, IRL, these "saints" who founded the republic were nominal Deists and xians, and were a fairly normal cross-section of rich and powerful men. Just like the current mix of statesmen, scoundrels, and stupidheads.
