Founded by Pat Robertson, 1961, it now produces 7.5 hours of programming for Fox Family Channel each week, most notably The 700 Club; similar shows are done for overseas markets. CBN Cable, once an all-religious network, became The Family Channel in the 80's, showing mainly reruns of old westerns and sitcoms. With the help of TCI, TFC was spun off into an IPO that netted Robertson and his son Tim about $90 million. The viewers who donated money to keep CBN afloat got nothing.
