CBN Cable, once an all-religious network, became The Family Channel in the 80's, showing mainly reruns of old westerns and sitcoms. With the help of TCI, TFC was spun off into an IPO that netted Robertson and his son Tim about $90 million. The viewers who donated money to keep CBN afloat got nothing.
