, the word chou
is kind of a prefix that means "super
", what have you. It's lately come into vogue
as part of the "Kogyaru
" variant of Japanese, comparable to the speech commonly associated with "Valley Girls
" in the US. It something is "Chou-oishii" it's very delicious; "Chou-kakkoii" is very cool. "Chou mukatsuku", well, that just sucks
It gets used sparingly by me in English - just to sound neat. Don't use this in Japan unless you want everybody to think you're an idiot, but it can be a fun superlative when used with other languages.
And Magenta: I'm a post-otaku.
