The Children's Defense Fund (CDF) is a non-profit organization, founded in 1973, dedicated to child advocacy. The phrase Leave No Child Behind which seemed to come up so often in the recent political conventions is a registered trademark of the CDF. Some of the things that the CDF has been instrumental on is the Childcare Care NOW! Campaign, and the Stand for Children the largest public demonstration for children in American history.
Stand for Children was born on June 1, 1996, when hundreds of thousands of Americans of every race, state, region, age, income, faith, and political persuasion stood together for children at the Lincoln Memorial.
