Cheshunt is a small to medium sized town in Hertfordshire, England. It's a relatively quiet place and is firmly on the commuter belt around London, where most of its population work.

Cheshunt was probably founded in Anglo-Saxon times but it is first recorded in Roman times, from where it gets it's name; Ches from the latin cestre and hunt, collectively meaning ‘wooded hunt’.

Today, Cheshunt is a relatively unimportant place with it's main to claims to fame being that the first Lotus sports car factory was situated in Windmill Lane, Cheshunt and Britain's largest supermarket chain, Tesco, has it's head offices here.

It's also my hometown.
