The style of magic which rules lawyers, power gamers and munchkins specialize at, and which is practiced to some extent by most role-players. Chartomancers memorize every chart, table, obscure rule, and usually make special care to note any mistakes made which would be to their advantage. Chartomancers are usually able to create new characters quickly due to their knowledge of the appropriate tables.

Unlike most other magic users, Chartomancers can excel nearly anything, including battle. Their magic can be used to help others (by pointing out holes in the rules, a misprint on a table, or a contradictory rule in a separate book) and infuriate the DM(generally by holding up the game due to previously stated methods).

Char"to*man`cy (?), n. [L. charta paper + -mancy. Cf. Cartomancy.]

Divination by written paper or by cards.
