1935, in
Pittsburgh PA. He attended the
University of Miami (I hold that against him).
Some of Grodin's gigs: Rosemary's Baby (1968), King Kong (1976), The Great Muppet Caper (1981), (ahem) Ishtar (1987), So I Married An Axe Murderer (1993), and Clifford, with Martin Short (1994). Grodin had a talk show on CNBC for 3 1/2 years, which was cancelled owing to low ratings; he then almost immediately started to host a weekend show on MSNBC. he won the 1994 American Comedy Award for funniest supporting actor in Dave (1993).
You might also remember his role as the security guard in The Muppets at Walt Disney World (TV) (1990). I think that's his best work.
