There are two sets of Charcot's triads, both of which are sets of clinical signs relating to quite separate diseases. One pertains to multiple sclerosis while the other refers to cholangitis. Charcot's triads are named after Jean Martin Charcot (1825-93), a French neurologist who first described these signs.

For multiple sclerosis - Charcot's triad consists of dysarthria, ataxia and tremor.

For cholangitis - Charcot's triad consists of right upper quadrant pain, fever and jaundice.
