There are many ways to carry a cell phone on your belt. Most phones come with a belt-clip that attaches to the back of the phone and then to your belt. The problem with those is that they tend to expose the phone face and (in some models) tend to break the phone.

The second option is to buy a cell phone cover. These are normally made of leather or something similar. They make your phone bulky and ugly.

The best phone holder I found is actually an FRS Radio holster, that you can buy at Radio Shack for ten bucks. You just slip the phone in there, panel facing you, and use a elastic band to grab the phone's antenna, holding it in place. It fits most small phones nicely, like the Nokias series 5 and 6, most Ericssons and many others.
