In the Final Fantasy video games, Carbunkle is this cute little turquiose/blue critter with a big ruby in its forehead. It looks a lot like a Pokemon, in fact. It can usually be summoned to cast a Reflect spell on your party, thus reflecting any spells cast at you (other than summoning magics) back at the caster.
