The gaelic term for friend. Used in the term anam cara which means "soul friend". A special kind of friendship like the buddhist concept of kalyana-mitra, the noble friend. One who complements your vision by showing things about yourself that you cannot see.

Cara is a character in the Sword of Truth series by Terry Goodkind. She's a Mord-Sith, and easily one of my favorite characters. Like all Mord-Sith, her weapon of choice is an Agiel, and her wardrobe of choice is a crimson leather bodysuit. Because it doesn't show blood.

She's got blue eyes, blond hair, and she's afraid of rats.
