| CDex is a freeware, open source audio track ripping program. CDex is a popular "ripping" program not only because it is 100% free, but also because of its ease of use and clean ripping method, which involves pulling the audio data off a CD by way of the data cable, ensuring clean audio rips (except in the case of a overly scratched CD). CDex also supports most MP3 encoders, including Xing, LAME, BladeEnc, etc. It is the easiest program for most users, but still very effective.
