A games console from Commodore. Effectively an Amiga A1200 with a built in cd drive and an extra custom chip for chunky to planar conversion. It sold fairly well despite being accompanied by a pretty poor TV advert (featuring a robot, a mad scientist and very little footage of games) and a pretty good print media one ("To be this good will take sega ages"). Commodore went bust within about 6 months of its release, and unsurprisingly few publishers were willing to support a machine without much of an obvious future. Even so, it has the best version of Speedball 2 anywhere, and a wonderful 3D version of Defender called Guardian.
