Brendan Fraser is a very good Canadian actor, one of the many Canadian actors who hit it big in
Hollywood. You're doubtless seen him in one of many Hollywood blockbusters dating from 1991 onwards. Comedy seems to be his specialty, but he said he likes to play "fish out of water" men.
Fraser has lived in Ottawa, Indianapolis, Detroit, Seattle, London and Rome. Apparently his dad was a travel executive. He loved theater after seeing it in London, eventually going to school at Cornish College of the Arts in Seattle. He's a tall guy, six feet, three inches. In 1998, he was chosen by People Magazine as one of the 50 most beautiful people in the world.
After many supporting and minor roles, then some substantial roles like Encino Man and School Ties, and moving up to more main roles like Airheads and The Scout, he hit it big by landing the title role of George of the Jungle, where he got to show off his comedic talent. He claims that is the role that revolutionized his career.
Fraser has both American and Canadian citizenship, and speaks French fluently. He got married to his girlfriend of 4 years, Afton Smith. They got married in the garden at the Bel Air Hotel in Los Angeles. They share the same birthday, December 3. On September 17, 2002, he had his first son, Griffin Arthur. Strangely, in all Pauly Shore movies, Fraser's character is always called "Link"
