Βουκολος

Boucolos, whose name means cowherd, was the son of Colonus of Tanagra in Boeotia and had two brothers Ochenmus and Leon, and one sister Ochna, the only daughter. Ochna loved Eunostus but was disdainfully rejected by him. She accused him in front of her brothers of having tried to assault her. The young men killed Eunostus with a blow on the head, then in remorse Ochna confessed the truth. The brothers fled before the threats of Eunostus' father, and the girl herself committed suicide.
