A local "alternative" rag published in Boston. It used to cost $1.50, but, like The Village Voice before them, they realized they could boost revenue by making it free and increasing circulation, therefore raising advertising prices. Best known for an extensive arts section with a local focus, opposing the new Fenway Park, honest reporting on the War on Drugs, an interesting take on local politics, pro-gay and pro S&M stances, and reporting on progressive national politics (although they endorsed Al Gore over Ralph Nader).
