Due to the software patents regarding mp3 technology, I can not distribute BladeEnc in executable form from this page.

Therefore, the only downloads availiable are the source files, but the page has links to various sites where the binaries are available.

About the encoding quality of BladeEnc versus Fraunhofer:

... Fraunhofer's routines produces a better quality when dealing with low bitrate MP3s (128 kBit or less) while bladeEnc is to be preferred when dealing with high bitrate MP3s (160 kBit or above).
