The Biblioteca Medicea Laurenziana is a library in Florence, Italy, known for its massive manuscript collection. The library was founded in 1571 by Duke Cosimo I, with a large portion of the Medici private library as the core of the collection. The library has grown significantly since then, keeping important manuscripts as the focus of the collection.

The library presently has about 11,000 manuscripts, 2,500 papyri, 566 incunabula, and 125,000 other printed books. The strength of the collection is classics, both in manuscript and printed form.
