Fortune Magazine writer. Back in February 2001, she called attention to Enron's mysterious ways; lots and lots of revenues but no clues on how they actually made all that money, everything being so secretive for 'competitive reasons'.
She was dissed by the CEO, the chairman called her editor to complain about her nosiness and the CFO flew in personnaly to assure everyone that everything was fine.
When her story appeared in the March 3rd issue of Fortune it was met by a resounding, ground-shaking shrug. So the story sank and Enron continued its bull market trajectory until December 2001.
Bethany is one C! woman. She saw right thru the Old Boys bullshit.
