Bernard Butler

Guitar god Bernard Butler was the original string-strummer and co-songwriter (with Brett Anderson) for the 90's neo-glam band Suede (now The London Suede in the US). He split with Suede in 1994 reportedly over creative and lifestyle differences during the making of their second album Dog Man Star (DMS to fans) then participated in colaborations with the likes of David McAlmont and Edwyn Collins before releasing his first solo album "People Move on" in 1998 and his second "Friends and Lovers" in 1999. Bernard has also composed music for film soundtracks.

Bernard Butler has become pretty much the wandering man of british indie, featuring on various tracks by other artists, but not doing much for himself. He was also guitarist-in-residence on The White Room, a music show on Channel 4 presented by Mark Radcliffe the Radio One DJ.

He gets very touchy when asked about his previous life as a member of Suede.

I also remember reading somewhere that he was spotted crying his eyes out at the funeral of Princess Diana.
