"School shooter"

On February 2, 1996 at age 14 Barry Loukaitis carried 2 pistols, over 70 rounds of ammunition and a .30-.30 rifle to school. He shot 3 students and a teacher at a Frontier Middle School in Moses Lake, Washington 180 miles east of Seattle.

Two of the students, and the teacher died.

Loukaitis claims to have planned the shootings carefully, getting ideas from the book "Rage," written by Stephen King. The defense at trial said the 1992 video for Pearl Jam's "Jeremy," in part, inspired 14-year-old Barry Loukaitis to act out like the troubled youth of the song.

Loukaitis was convicted of three counts of aggravated first-degree murder, one count of attempted murder and second degree assault and 16 counts of kidnapping, He was sentenced to two life sentences and 205 years in prison without parole.

Loukaitis's mother claimed at trial to have talked in depth with her son about her plans to commit suicide and detailed the history of depression in both her side, and his father's side of the families.

Barry Loukaitis was on the drug Ritalin at the time of the school shooting.
