MTV debuts at 12:01am.

The first music video ever played on MTV was The Buggles' appropriately named hit "Video Killed The Radio Star".

The last music video ever played on MTV was probably something by MC Hammer. Ever since the mid-90s it's been mostly game shows and cartoons. MTV, we hardly knew ye.
