What was once familiar is now foreign
territory I do not recognize

When did I fall away?
When did I lose contact?

My key still works in the door
Clothes still hang in the closet

Only my hands are out of place
No longer able to feel what they once touched

Hands this cold are:
Deaf ears
Blind eyes
Scalded tongue

Numb –they are immune
to your skin; your hair

Inches away;
Ten thousand miles from a reaction
