A phrase which sportscasters are alleged to use when they are about to mention some commonly-known fact.

Also used to describe the tendency in cheesy fanfic stories to reiterate some point or event from the original story upon which the fanfic is based. Extensive "As you know, Bob"-ism is one of the foremost signs of bad fanfic.
