The only organization devoted solely to the protection and management of the Appalachian Trail. It has information about shelters, mileage, state laws, maps, basically everything you ever wanted to know about the Appalachian Trail. Its headquarters is in Harper's Ferry, close to the halfway mark of the trail. Its acronym is ATC and its webpage is http://www.atconf.org
