book review:

"Another Country: Navigating the Emotional Terrain of Our Elders" by Mary Pipher, Ph.D. 1999
(author of Reviving Ophelia)

This book is a field guide for my generation (baby boomers)to mend and build bridges with our parent's generation (survivors of The Depression and WWII). It deftly explains the forces that molded each generation, why we experience such conflict as well as the life passages we all pass through as we age. Most helpful are the tips to help the "non native" when traversing the "foreign land" of old age. Informative and a good read.

Suitable for anyone with an aging parent or interest in the subject.
