Pianist/singer/songwriter. She was Tori Amos back when Tori was still in 2nd grade. Her career spans jazz, the British Fusion corner of prog rock (e.g. she was on Bill Bruford's first LP), and the post-punk end of art-rock; the personnel on her various albums (over 30 years) reads like a Who's Who (once removed), but mention her name, and you say "Who?". Ms. Peacock was also, in the 70s, the musicoromantic muse of much of Al Kooper's Naked Songs LP. Her earlier jazz material has been revived, of late, by Marilyn Crispell and ex-husband Gary Peacock.
