Angelfish is the common name for Pterophyllum scalare, a freshwater fish in the shape of a disc. Angelfishes belong to the Cichlid family. They can grow to be up to six inches when measured vertically.

Ideal water condition for this fish are soft and slightly acidic (pH 6.5 to 6.9).

Angelfishes comes in many different varieties, the most common of which are: silver, black, veiltail, and marble.
