The light through the window dances off the glass
into directions light and dark
she sees herself in shadows
where others see only sunshine
Her eyes reflected back onto themselves
deep green
looking for an answer that is in there
but she can't quite make it out
too opaque for her vision
this version of herself
an unfaithful reproduction.
