Mississippi-based group (in Tupelo, birthplace of Elvis), founded and run by Reverend Donald E. Wildmon; they run the gamut of evangelical Christian squeaky-wheel deeds. They first gained notice for actions against "offensive" television shows, but have all sorts of things cooking: a Disney boycott, political lobbying, Howard Stern protests, radio feeds, a legal wing that assists Operation Rescue, et al. Yer basic one-stop righteous-anger experience. Nothin' but a hound dog.

They often run campaigns for censorship of all sorts, expecting the country to bend to fit their moral views.

An interesting thing to point out is that, while they are helping push for censorware (ie filters) to be installed in libraries that allow internet access for the public, some of the filters actually were blocking access to the AFA website, categorizing them as a bigotry/intolerance web site. Irony is fun.

Oh, and they also threw a fit about the book "One of the Guys" that describes pederasty and pedophilia in the Navy. Not because of what they Navy was doing, but because the book described it and was funded by the NEA.
