In the world of MMORPGs, an altoholic is a player who creates and plays a number of different characters. This may be done to have characters with a range of talents (mage, tank, etc.), appearances, or to play on multiple servers, which may offer different game experiences.
It's also the name of a World of Warcraft add-on for managing alt characters.
