It was meant to be mainly a plave for the poor and disabled people, and in its early years, it had more than a thousand regulars in 1696, when it opened for real.

The institution was turned more into a hospital in 1784, and after two world wars and more than 10 generations of doctors, it is now a fully modernised place in the heart of Austria.
