AIM Express

The current "official" Java applet AOL Instant Messenger client. It is basically AOL Quick Buddy placed inside a frame beneath an ad banner. Fortunately, the old Quick Buddy client works just fine on its own, thank you very much.

This version of AIM does not handle Buddy Icons, Get File, Games, IM image, Send File, Talk, or Block as the regular AOL Instant Messenger does. It also does not allow those cute little smilies that I hate to give and you cannot copy and paste everything that was written for later viewing.

In any case, only use AIM Express when you are away from your personal computer and the computer you are now at doesn't already have AIM or when you are at a university because universities don't allow AIM installed.
