Primary Plot: A man who believes he is
King Arthur boards the station.
Secondary Plot: Garibaldi deals with the
post office.
Tertiary Plot: Sheridan convinces the
League of Non-Aligned Worlds to sign a
mutual defense treaty to protect the station.
Commentary: One of the most underrated B5 episodes, which is as powerful as it is mostly due to the efforts of the guest starring
Michael York. York is a noted Shakespearean actor who perfectly fits the role of the former gunner who goes insane and believes he's
King Arthur. Some of the interaction between
G'Kar and "Arthur" is priceless:
G'Kar:
"They were the bad guys, as you say, and we were the good guys--and they made a very satisfying thump when they hit the floor!"
The music, masterfully composed as usual by
Christopher Franke, is the other shining star of this episode. The
Celtic composition is
entirely different from Franke's usual B5 themes, and perfeclty fits the
Middle Ages look and feel pervading this episode.
Garibaldi's banter with the
postal worker falls a bit flat, but it's certainly adequate in conveying the difficulties of surviving on station without Earth's assistance.
